Jim Horncastle

Senior Network Engineer

Jim’s life has been marked by a series of diverse and impactful experiences. At the age of six, he built his first computer, sparking a lifelong passion for technology. He graduated high school at just 17 and immediately pursued a college degree focused on computers. During his time in school, Jim also discovered a love for caffeine, theatre, and music. After earning degrees in Computer Repair & Networking Technologies and Theatre, he began his professional journey with WNYCS.

Shortly thereafter, the tragic events of 9/11 led Jim to pivot in a new direction, enlisting in the Army as an Infantryman. After completing his military service, he returned to civilian life and took on his first management role at H&R Block, which allowed him to update his education to encompass the latest developments in technology. Jim then re-entered the IT workforce, spending the last 15 years working for several computer companies in the Buffalo area. This experience has given him a deep understanding of the local business landscape and a keen insight into products that help businesses thrive.

Jim is the proud father of two sons, Conner and Seamus, and has called Akron home since the summer of 2019. He is an avid motorcycle rider and has held numerous positions at both the local and state levels within the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York.
